· Course Overview: · The course is for people who would like to work as child carers in public and private nurseries, social services and health authorities. A full range of childcare topics are studied such as first aid, child development and the early years curriculum. Students will also spend four days per fortnight on work placements.

Entry Requirements: · An advanced course suitable for those with at least 5 GCSEs at grades A-C or above including English language or a relevant level 2 qualification such as BTEC First Diploma, NVQ Level 2 . Most level 3 courses are suitable for entry into higher education. All students who wish to enrol on a childcare course must have a Criminal Records Bureau Enhanced Disclosure and supply two satisfactory references before starting the course. Interview required with specialist tutor where details will be given.
