Developed in response to the industry's request for?broader training, to improve the skills, knowledge and understanding of the future workforce this course provides a basic introduction to carpentry.

What will I study?
In Year 1 students will study the following areas:
· Safe Use of Woodworking Hand Tools
· Timber Jointing Techniques
· Use of Portable Power Tools
· Storing Materials & Equipment
· Working Efficiently

In Year 2 students will study the same modules as Level 1 but at a higher level. In addition, new areas will be covered including:
· First Fixing Before Plasterwork
· Second Fixing After Plasterwork

What next?
Students must successfully complete Level 1 before they can progress on to Level 2.
Those who successfully complete both Levels 1 and 2 will be ideally placed to pursue careers in the industry.
