Description of course:
This is an EMTA level one NVQ course in Performing Engineering Operations. In particular it covers technology competencies in mechanical and electrical workshop practices together with mechanical manufacture, fabrication and processes.

Method of assessment:
A mixture of continual in course assignments (workshop competence and theory), presentation of underpinning knowledge and some examination.

Progression opportunities and careers:
This course provides an excellent foundation to progress on to further education.

Entry requirements:
To have completed secondary education to GCSE standard.

Additional qualifications studied:
All full time students will undertake a combination of additional qualifications that will enhance their study skills and those skills that will be important in employment.

Additional costs:
Students will be expected to purchase their own safety boots (approx 25) for workshop activities.
