About this course

You must have either: a previous ACS CCCN1 certificate, or an NVQ in relevant gas work, or recently completed an auditable course of training in commercial gas work, or a relevant NVQ in plumbing or an allied trade, or relevant, long experience within the gas industry, which will need to be verified by your employer, or similar person.

Course Level This course is to help you in achieving the first component of the ACS (Accredited Certification Scheme for Individual Gas Fitting Operatives) relative to gas work in commercial catering premises.

Description
A refresher course covering all of the fundamentals of commercial catering gas work, aimed at preparing you for the CCCN1 assessment, which is required by Gas Safe Register, for your registration with them.

Course Length
A 4 day course. Assessment is undertaken separately, and is of 2 day duration, making 6 days, in all.

What will I study?
This course covers current practices in the areas of:
installation
Ventilation
Flues
Controls
Legialation

How will I learn?
The course is for experienced people, and the subjects are wide ranging, so are mainly covered in the classroom. This is by lecturer input, written exercises, and research. There are practical tasks also, in certain areas of work.

How will I be assessed?
The assessment takes 2 days in addition to the training period, and is undertaken separately.
