This new course offers a more flexible drop in way to learn about Graphic Design in a series of themed sessions.
Focusing on the design principles in Graphic Design this course provides an opportunity to work through a diverse range of creative exercises to develop your creative thinking. There will be an emphasis on an experimental approach and will be encouraged to take risks to push ideas forward. The course will be part hands on (cut + paste) and include an introduction into digital software and packaging design
This course provides the opportunity to explore your ‘Looking’ and ‘Seeing’ skills.
The class size is capped to enable more space for individual one to one teaching than you would expect in a busy class.

About this course
Demonstrate an awareness of the basic design principles in Graphic Design.
- Demonstrate an awareness of composition / balance in layout design.
- Demonstrate basic skills in Adobe Illustrator.
- Critically evaluate personal design work in order to develop ideas further.
You are encouraged to bring an A4 or A5 sized sketchbook, a set of fine liner black pens and an A4 size folder for
design work. It would be useful to bring a memory stick to save digital files (or portable hard drive – please note PC
formatted hard drives can be read by Apple mac computers, but not written to).
