This Health and Safety Awareness course is aimed at providing delegates with a basic understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act and associated regulations. The ´duty of care´ placed on both employers and employees is explained, with specific emphasis placed on accident prevention and the creation of a ´safety culture´.
How does it work
This Health and Safety Awareness course is designed to be industry specific with additional optional content covering regulations that are prevalent to the delegates´ working environment. (COSHH Regulations, Infection Control etc)
The course involves:
- An overview of HASWA – the duties placed on employers and employees
- A summary of the most relevant regulations made under the Act
- Accident prevention – causes and effects of accidents, reporting of accidents (RIDDOR) and creating a ´safety culture´
- Risk assessment – Croner´s risk assessment and HSE five step approach
- Optional industry specific regulations
