This course will offer the students an insight into Indian Cookery.
What are the course outcomes?
Participants will gain knowledge about:
Basic spices plus some exotic spices used in Indian Cooking
How to purchase the right spices, how to store them and appreciate the freshness and quality of spices
Where to buy and in what quantities.
Participants will also learn:
Various methods of preparing and cooking the vegetables,lentils and meat
to make some Indian pickles, raitas and chutneys
Different ways to prepare poppadum - either by roasting or frying
Some of the dishes on the course are:
Jeera Chicken
chicken curry with fresh fenugreek leaves
Paneer with tomato and cashew nut sauce
Materials:Students will need to provide their own spices & ingredients every week.
How will you be assessed?
There is no formal assessment, but a student will be awarded a certificate for this course provided he/she has attended at least 80% of the sessions.
