- supervision enables a close interactive relationship between manager and supervisee thus reducing the opportunity for miscommunication
- supervision is the backbone of appraisal, that which puts it into context
- appraisal can be valuable to all levels of staff
- appraisal enables all organisational roles to be translated within the overall mission statement and performance indicators and targets,
- appraisal offers the opportunity for staff to see where they fit into the whole picture and for their contribution to be valued
- appraisal is often dreaded by all parties!
- positive results ~ appraisee is acknowledged for their skills, abilities and qualities and offered support for development areas.
