BTEC National Certificate - Two-year course
This is a two-year programme that can be combined with an optional AS Level in year one for suitably qualified candidates (this option will be discussed at interview).
Photography is a rapidly changing cutting-edge discipline with many applications in the advertising, publishing, print and new media industries. The full award is equivalent to two A Levels.
You will learn to use appropriate techniques to create photographic work in many contexts including: Editorial; Documentary; and Fine Art. The course will include a number of educational visits to exhibitions of contemporary photography, professional studios, photographic agencies and relevant locations for thematic study.
All students will have the opportunity to show their work in SEEVIC College's annual Photography Show. To be successful you will require a lively and enquiring mind, a growing interest in photography, fine art, graphic design and media, a willingness to explore new ideas and a developing ability to communicate your ideas effectively.

Careers and Further Studies
This course will let you build on the essential skills, techniques, attitudes and understanding to start as a successful professional or move on to further study. It is the ideal route into a wide range of design-related degrees at university or Art College in subjects such as: Photography; Film and Video Production; Advertising; Games Development; and Digital Animation.
General Entry Requirements
At least four GCSEs at grade C or above or a BTEC First Diploma (or equivalent) in a related area at Merit level.
