Course programme
The primary aims are to understand the nature of conflict, what causes anger and
aggression and understanding of the Key Violence Risks. The course also provides
practical advice on such topics as risk assessments, reporting practices,
visits, use of vehicles and the use of mobiles/ personal alarms. In addition to
this, staff will be able to recognise the warning and danger signs and there
impact factors as well as the use of safe distance when dealing with conflict,
the use of reasonable force whilst exploring different scenarios for dealing
with possible conflicts and the understanding and practise of breakaway
techniques.
