VTCT Certificate Level 2 in Nail Treatments

Who is the course for?
This course is for anybody who wishes to learn about manicure and pedicure techniques and is a requirement to progress to the Nail Technology course.

What is the course about?
During the course you will have the opportunity to acquire the skills necessary to perform manicure & pedicure treatments and also a knowledge of employment standards. You will learn the structure of the nail and the skin and health & safety.

During the course you will have the opportunity to acquire skills necessary to perform manicure and pedicure treatment including:

File nails into shape
Hand and arm massage
Cuticle work
Applying various nail polishes and products
French manicure
Pedicure routine
Health and Safety

Units covered: VR08, VR09, VR02 and VR74

Will I need anything else?
You will be required to purchase an overall and a manicure kit. A portfolio of evidence will need to be produced, therefore a camera will be a requirement. Models for assessments will also be required (models are charged a nominal fee). You will be required to provide stationery including a ring binder and plastic wallets.

How long & often do I attend?
This course is offered for one 3 hour session per week. A minimum of 90% attendance is required.

How will I be assessed?
This qualification is achieved via continuous assessment, assignments and tests. You may also be required to attend on the day of the External Verifier`s visit, and you will be required to sit external tests.

What opportunities will this lead to?
On completion of this course you will be able to progress onto an advanced nail course or seek employment as a nail technician.
