Interactive Training Programme
An ITOL Nationally accredited interactive self instructed training programme.
This course combines an interactive self-instructed training resource and practical activities including basic life support and the safe use of an automated external defibrillator.
The course aims to ensure that all members of staff can identify and initiate basic management of clinical emergencies. This includes monitoring the patient , identifying patients who are ‘at risk’ or are becoming critically ill, basic life support and the safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and scenario training.
The self-directed learning course aims to build the learner’s confidence by enhancement of both skills and knowledge in a progressive manner. Each module has clear learning outcomes and activities which the learner can undertake at a time and pace convenient for them.
The course material is of the highest quality written and presented by an experienced Practitioner who teaches for both the Resuscitation Council (UK) and European Resuscitation Council (ERC).
Why self directed learning?.
Dealing with medical emergencies and providing life saving skills requires repetitive practice. Traditional face to face training only provides you with a few hours of training per year. As all resuscitation equipment is provided this scheme enables you to practise your skills and refresh your knowledge throughout the year. Making it both cost effective and convenient.
The overall aim of the course is to provide a quality training course which is flexible, effective and efficient in meeting your educational needs.
What’s included?
• Interactive teaching guide covering all aspects of the training on DVD
• Training AED with remote control
• Manikin with chest compression feedback
• Practical BLS and AED assessment guide
• Peer assessor training
• Medical emergencies, BLS and AED online assessment
• CPD certificate
• In house scenario training and guidance
• Desk top guide to medical emergencies
• Casualty report form and Oxygen administration guide
Already completed your training this year ? Don’t forget training does not have to take place just once a year . It is common knowledge that skills you don’t use – you loose. This course will be available to staff year-round, enabling them to retain the knowledge and skills base required, and top it up if need be to ensure they have the optimum levels of competence and confidence.
This course includes all equipment for scenario training so you can practice at anytime and is ideal for all new staff.
