I recently attended the Mental Health First Aid course with Julie at HR Champions.
This was an interactive online course spanning two days. I found the course very useful, particularly with the practical role-play exercises to consider the various scenarios involving a conversation about mental health. Since completing the course and using the skills learnt back in my workplace, I found that the ‘CARE’ model has been especially helpful as it has enabled me to follow a structured conversation and achieve effective signposting to specialist agencies which the individual person can follow up on.
Thanks to Julie and the team for a practical and insightful training course, I feel I gained a lot of knowledge.

During the Mental Health First Aiders course endorsed by HR Champions and listed on Emagister, delegates will understand the factors that affect wellbeing and mental health, and gain the skills to recognise the signs of mental illness. With this knowledge and skillset, Mental Health First Aiders can then have discrete conversations and signpost colleagues towards appropriate support.
This course is usually run face-to-face as classroom-based learning but due to COVID-19 it is being held over Zoom in a live e-learning style, therefore, you must be able to attend the live Zoom sessions.

About this course
This is for mental health champions in the workplace and for line managers and team leaders - these can either be a nominated employee or member of management.
This course is suitable for individuals who wish to expand their knowledge and invest in their personal development. It is also suitable for businesses to book their employees on as part of a training needs analysis to improve the productivity and quality of work, and manage the performance of employees.
Owing to Covid-19 restrictions, courses will be delivered over online conferencing platforms. Delegates require an Internet connected device with video and audio capability such as a laptop, iPad or tablet computer.
