Alexander Technique

Level: introduction

Course content:
This course is for people who want to learn the basic techniques of Alexander Technique, a therapy which involves learning correct posture and how to stand, sit, walk and carry without stressing your spine. Great course for back sufferers.
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Explain the origins of Alexander Technique.
- Explain the theory
- Identify correct posture.
- Stand, sit and walk without stressing your spine.
- Describe the anatomy of the spine
- Perform a simple postural correction

Course Structure:
Weekly practical demonstrations and practise with other students. Short presentations on theory and history behind the therapy.

Course resources:
All students have access to our fully equipped state of the art learning centre. This included free internet access.

Assessment:
Tutor observation and feedback. Individual Learning Plans. Student and peer self assessment. Course file appraisal

When information is available you will notice 2 different fees stated for this course. The fee you pay is dependent on your status:
Fee 1: Standard fee;
Fee 2: Aged 60+ years fee
Students in receipt of an income-based benefit pay £20 per course per term.
You will need to bring proof of age and any benefits when you enrol.
You DO NOT have to pay a college registration fee for these courses, but you may have to pay for additional course materials.Materials costs:
