The cost of this course does not include the optional Community Interpreting LOCN Award. Students wishing to obtain the full qualification (i.e. LOCN certificate) should pay an extra £60
Course Structure:
Work will be assessed through written assignments and performance as an interpreter. In this course students will cover following 3 units:
1. Skills for Community Interpreting
2. Professional Code of Ethics for Interpreters
3. Public Service Sector
Students can progress to a an optional full qualification doing the next Community Interpreting level 3 course (advanced level)
Course resources:
Language Laboratory; Satellite TV; Computer Assisted Language Learning and Internet.
Assessment:
Through written assignments and performance as an interpreter in simulated role-plays

When information is available you will notice 2 different fees stated for this course. The fee you pay is dependent on your status:
Fee 1: Standard fee;
Fee 2: Aged 60+ years fee
Students in receipt of an income-based benefit pay £20 per course per term.
You will need to bring proof of age and any benefits when you enrol.
You DO NOT have to pay a college registration fee for these courses, but you may have to pay for additional course materials.Materials costs:
