Providing an introduction to garden design at a professional level, this popular course and has been written for those who wish to pursue a career in garden design.
What qualifications will I need?
Minimum age 18 years. An interview with the course tutor prior to the course is advised. Knowledge of plants is an advantage. Tetanus protection is recommended.
What will I be learning about?
The course covers six units over one year:
- Design principles
- Surveying and site analysis
- Draughting and graphics
- Soft landscaping
- Hard landscaping
- Business and contract management
What is involved?
A mixture of theory, practice and real'life design projects.
Where will it take me?
Successful completion of the course will enable students to start a design practice or seek employment within the garden design industry.

Notes
It will be necessary to complete some coursework at home (6 hours per week average). Several garden visits will be included as part of the course.
