Summary:
NVQs are nationally recognised awards. The awards enable a candidate to prove competence for the work they already do in their settings. The course is designed for those working in breakfast/after school clubs, play schemes, and holiday clubs. At Level 2 you are likely to be working under the supervision of an experienced and qualified professional.

Entry Requirements:
Current employment or voluntary work with age ranges 4-16 for a minimum of 2 sessions a week for at least a term in the field of playwork and the ability to study at this level.
Assessment:
You will be allocated 24 hours of assessment time by City College and will be supported by an allocated assessor during the length of your qualification. NVQ assessors will observe your achievements and skills in your workplace and will aid you to collect a portfolio of evidence for assessment.
Academic Progression:
On completion of the course you will be able to progress to the NVQ Level 3 in Playwork.
Career Progression:
On completion of this course and with further study you can progress towards roles with responsibilities, e.g. manager, deputy.

Mandatory Units -All must be completed
- Support relationships in the play environment
- Work with children and young people to create play spaces and support freely chosen self directed play
- Contribute to the health, safety, security and welfare of children and young people using the play environment
- Help to improve your own practice and the work of your playwork team
