Professional Cookery: Bronze Level (SVQ Level 1)
This diverse and exciting programme is an ideal starting point if you have little or no knowledge of the food industry and would like to begin a career in the hospitality industry. You will receive some classroom tuition alongside practical learning in the kitchen and training restaurant.

You will undertake:
SVQ 1 Food Production - preparing and cooking vegetables, fish, meat and poultry, rice, pasta, egg dishes, dough products SVQ 1 Service of Food and Drink - preparing tables and serving food and drink to the public.

Course work is continually assessed in both theory and practical units. Also embedded into the programme is the BIIAB (SCPLH) Scottish Certificate for Licence Premises Staff. There is a short multiple choice exam at the end of the BIIAB course.

Further Study/Employment
Upon completing this course you can progress to one of the Silver Level awards or into employment.
