Entry is based upon interview and assessment. You will be invited in for an interview and assessment will take place. You must also bne aged 16-18 when you enrol.

Is the course for me?
This course is for any learners who want to start a career working in the health and social care sector. You will learn to develop and practice the skills that emploers require in this sector. The health and social care sector is a very rewarding area to work within as you provide help and support to those most in need to enable them to live a good quality life and have their needs met. It is a very exciting time to start working within this sector as our population gets older and needs more support for needs to be met, this opens up the doors for many different career options within this sector. The course will provide you with the opportunity to go out into the workplace and experience first hand what it is like to work within this sector
What will I learn?
There are four units you complete on the Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care.
These are:
- Unit 001 Developing own knowledge andpractice in a health and social care setting
- Unit 002 Supporting the care, protection and well-being of individuals in a health and social care setting
- Unit 003 Communicate with, and completing records for individuals in a health and social care setting
- Unit 004 Understand health and safety practice in a health and social care setting
You will also start to build a portfolio containing evidence of mandatory training that you have attended. This includes, food hygiene training, basic first aid training, moving and handling training, manual handling training, protection of vulnerable adults training You will also undertake Key Skills
You will also go onto placement between week 6-12 of the course. The work you produce will be based upon real work activities at your placement.
How will I be assessed?
There are four assignments that you need to undertake and you will also be assessed upon your performance upon your placement
