New professional standards have been developed for those who would like an introduction to teaching/training/tutoring in the life-long learning sector.

What will I be learning?

The qualification is designed to enable you to:
Adopt an integrated approach to the theory and practice of teaching
Reflect on your own previous/current levels of experience, practice and skills, and areas for development.
Identify principles of learning, teaching, assessment and evaluation.
Develop confidence, communication and inter-personal skills.
Develop an awareness of your professional role and responsibilities.

How will I learn?

You will complete 2 assignments to meet City & Guilds specifications. One theory and one practical. Each of these is broken down into 7 short tasks.
One assignment involves 'teaching' other members of the group and evaluating each other's practice.

What else might I want to know?

The course is designed for pre-service or in-service teachers who:

• Would like or require an introduction to teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector or
• Are seeking career progression within their area of work or
• Will be / are seeking to progress towards QTLS status and/or
• Teach on a one-to-one and /or group basis.

What can I do afterwards?

You may be able to progress onto City & Guilds 7305 Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector.
