2. Course description This course is appropriate for students interested in working as chef within the hospitality industry. Qualified skilled staff are more likely to gain employment and this qualification represents an excellent preparation for working in the industry. It is a busy and practical course with real working experience in the restaurant and kitchens. 3. Entry requirements 3 GCSEs at grade C or above, including catering and English or maths. Internal candidates must have completed the level 1 diploma qualification in hospitality at merit level. Further progression criteria include excellent attendance and attitude and completion of a progression assignment. Experience in the hospitality industry would be preferred. Students aged 19+ may meet the entry requirements through industry experience. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method Progress on the course is measured through a number of written assignments and short answer tests. Students will also have practical assessments. This qualification will be graded pass/merit/distinction.
