Recruitment and Selection
The key to a successful organisation is having the right people in the right jobs. This applies equally whether the person is a new recruit or a potential transfer from another area.
These workshops look at the stages of the recruitment process and the range of techniques available to ensure you make the right choice. They explain the use of the necessary documentation and focus on the skills of the selection interview.

Making the Right Choice
I day workshop

The one day programme is called 'Making the Right Choice' and is a one-day course aimed at managers with basic experience of recruiting, who need to become familiar with good practice and the law relating to recruitment and selection.

Introduction to Recruitment and Selection
2 day workshop
The two day programme is called 'An Introduction to Recruitment' and is a two-day course aimed at managers who have minimal experience of recruiting and require an in-depth learning experience with the opportunity to practice the skills required. It covers thoroughly all aspects of the process.
This workshop is very practical, using examples of recruitment documentation and legal requirements to apply to fictitious (or forthcoming)vacancies, to give participants hands-on experience of all the stages of the recruitment process. This level of actual application of principles and procedures is vital for the protection of the organisation, where the consequences of poor recruitment practice could be disastrous.

The following topics will be included in both programmes:
  • Job specifications
  • Selection criteria
  • Advertising in a tight labour market (not one-day course)
  • Discrimination Law
  • Shortlisting
  • Psychometric and ability testing
  • Assessing candidates
  • Interview skills
