Level: introduction

Course content:
This course is for people who want to learn the basic techniques of Reflexology, a traditional therapy which involves massaging the feet, relaxation techniques and awareness of how the body functions in relation to the feet.
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Explain the origins of Reflexology.
- List the links between pressure points and other parts of the body.
- Identify pressure points in foot and apply pressure to them.
- Use basic massage strokes.
- Describe the anatomy of the foot
- Perform a simple reflexology massage

Course Structure:
Weekly practical demonstrations and practise with other students. Short presentations on theory and history behind the therapy.

Course resources:
All students have access to our fully equipped state of the art learning centre. This included free internet access.

Assessment:
Tutor observation and feedback. Individual Learning Plans. Student and peer self assessment. Sharing of work in group.

Use reflexology massage at home, go on a level 1 or ITECH course

Fees Info
When information is available you will notice 2 different fees stated for this course. The fee you pay is dependent on your status:
Fee 1: Standard fee;
Fee 2: Aged 60+ years fee
Students in receipt of an income-based benefit pay £20 per course per term.
You will need to bring proof of age and any benefits when you enrol.
You DO NOT have to pay a college registration fee for these courses, but you may have to pay for additional course materials.Materials costs:
You will need to bring a towel, talcum powder and a small cushion. Wear comfortable shoes.
