You will have the opportunity to watch resort reps in action, meet with the people that do the job and deliver your own welcome party.
Learning Styles
Students will learn the theory underpinning the role of a resort rep and, through video, discussion and role play, understand how these theories are put into practice. Students will complete a workbook where they can record their ideas and appropriate techniques.
Subject combinations and progression
This subject is relevant to any student who has an interest in working overseas and is particularly useful for students studying languages, business or travel and tourism.
Subject modules and assessment
Unit 1:
Understand the travel industry and the role of the resort Rep.
Unit 2:
Fulfil the resort rep's role at the airport
Unit 3:
Fulfil the role of the resort rep at the hotel
Unit 4:
Fulfil the role of the resort rep on coach tours.
Unit 5:
Promote effective customer care
Unit 6:
Review the effectiveness of tour duties.
Students are assessed through a portfolio of work and a short multiple choice exam
