Tutor introduction to delegates (background) Aims & Workshop Agenda • Identification • Intervention • Regime Management • Dispel some of the myth • When to be concerned • Role plays • Possible personal reactions • Estimating the risk • How to ensure communication between disciplines and multidisciplinary approach to the management of at risk service users • How to support staff working within the environment or following involvement in incidents of self harm or suicide • Monitoring and record keeping the level and nature of incidents of self harm, and monitor the effectiveness of follow-up action • How to approach the topics with a distressed person • Establish an Action Plan
Teaching Methods The course involves several activities to support the learning and development aspects of this course and will be delivered by a variety of teaching methods including: presentation; small group discussion; whole group discussion; individual work; case studies and handouts.
