Description
The BTEC Introductory Diploma in Sport & Leisure is designed to increase your general knowledge and awareness of the industry. The course is an important first step into the Sport, Recreation and Leisure Industry and you will experience a range of activities specifically aimed at developing your employability skills, confidence and motivation.

1 year (full-time)

What will I study?
A variety of topics are covered including starting work in sport & leisure, the healthy body, personal effectiveness, financial management, organising and taking part in sport and introducing customer service. You will also be given the opportunity to attend overseas sporting residentials, various outdoor activities, work experience, the College gym and local leisure facilities. You will also learn functional skills which are English, Maths and ICT as required.


How will I learn?
A variety of learning approaches will be used and include; work-based activities, role-play and simulations, independent learning opportunities, knowledge based sessions and a work placement.

How will I be assessed?
The programme is continually assessed on the basis of assignments and practical activities.



Where could it lead?
You will be able to progress on to the BTEC First Diploma
in Sport.
