About the course:
This programme is designed for senior managers who have responsibility to translate organisational strategy into effective operational performance and those who have completed the CMI Diploma in Management. Based on the National Occupational Standards for Management and Leadership, the Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership is accredited at Level 7 on the National Qualifications Framework in England, Wales and N Ireland, and is positioned at Level 11 on the Scottish Qualifications Framework. It is a direct updated replacement for the CMI Level 7 Executive Diploma in Management.

The Diploma in Strategic management and Leadership is also intended for those people who wish to work towards Chartered Manager status.

· 7004 Strategic information management.
· 7005 Conducting a strategic management project.
· 7006 Organisational direction.
· 7007 Financial planning.
· 7008 Strategic marketing.
· 7009 Strategic project management.
· 7010 Organisational change.
· 7011 Strategic planning.
· 7012 Human resource planning.

Units 7001 to 7006 must be passed, together with any other three units, to achieve the full diploma.

Assessment:
Assessment is by a series of work-based assignments, which may be in the form of a written report or a personal or group presentation. There is one assessment, which is set and marked by the CMI and a final presentation with report.

Progression:
This qualification is at postgraduate level and is likely to give some exemptions to other professional qualifications and an MBA, and is mapped to give Chartered Manager status (subject to an additional fee).
