Is this course for me?
This course suits those aged 16-19 who want to work on basic
skills and sample a variety of vocational areas.
What will I study?
This course is suitable for those who want to work on basic
skills and sample a variety of vocational areas such as catering,
carpentry, painting and decorating and soap making. You will work
on maths, English, computing and personal development.
Subjects:

• Numeracy

What can I do next?
This can lead to other College courses and routes into work can
be investigated. Tutors are happy to help with career
progression.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to convey interest and commitment to the course.
With some help applicants should be able to use the College's
buildings and facilities independently and be able to travel
independently.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is through a variety of ways including assignments,
portfolio evidence and formal exams. Students also have regular
tutorials to discuss progress and to help plan studies. Additional
support, help and guidance are also available from the College
Guidance Team.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
