It's vital that the catering and hospitality industry observe the golden rules of good hygiene by avoiding cross contamination, cooking food thoroughly and storing it properly but it's also crucial that you stick to them when preparing food at home. Our course will teach you how to be safe when catering.

Rigorous enforcement of food hygiene legislation is important, but is not sufficient to prevent food poisoning. A reduction in high levels of food poisoning can only be achieved through education of food handlers. Food handlers will gain an appreciation of the fundamentals of good food hygiene practice.

What does the course involve?:
The course covers all aspects of food safety, hazards to food safety, principles of safe food handling and storage, cleaning, food premises and equipment, and the laws that apply to food businesses and food handlers describing in general the requirements of current regulations.
It is relevant to all catering operations either in a professional environment or the home.

You will be assessed by a multiple choice test on completion of the course.
