Maika Klaukien has a dance background (BA + MA) and has been teaching since the age of 16. She qualified with the Pilates Foundation in 2003 (matwork and equipment) and has since specialised in rehabilitation from injury, working closely alongside Physiotherapists.

Course programme

Beginners Pilates

Pilates is an exercise system designed to stretch, strengthen, lengthen, tone and balance the entire body. It improves your posture, releases stress and increases strength and flexibility. Pilates works the deeper muscles in a focused manner strengthening core postural muscles and developing correct body alignment. This stabilises the spine and supports the back. This course will provide you with a step by step guide to the theory and practice of Pilates enabling you to attend any of our Pilates level one or open level classes with confidence.
