What is the Casual fashion dress-code about?

Casual fashion is a general expression used to describe an informal and relaxed appearance, where practicality and comfort prevail. Other casual styles are:

Business Casual

This dress code is already used in many companies that seek the comfort of their employees without losing professionalism. We find it in sectors such as technology and banking. The rules of this style do not require a full suit, but admit various changes:

  • Chinos pants replace the dress pants. This option is in between the suit pants and jeans. If we opt for an alternative with tweezers we will have a more formal aesthetic, and if we choose colours other than the classic ones, such as khaki, navy and sand, we will have to be more creative. In casual business, the Chino Jeans can combine with a dress shirt, polo shirt in one colour, just with blazer or jacket and tie.
  • Suit jacket without a tie. It is a way to wear a relaxed dress code. This is a growing trend, nowadays we see more executives with this look when they have no formal events.
  • Moccasin style shoes, with laces or buckles.
  • In women’s clothing, it is important to respect lengths below the knee and of course not wear necklines. This style accepts the flat shoe and allows replacing jackets with cardigans.

Smart Casual

In this style, elegance continues to prevail but the outfit gets more relaxed using casual clothes. It is the most commonly used style and it is correct for a large part of workplaces as well as for any informal public meeting.

If we want to achieve looks like this, we suggest the use of quality basics that look good. Here we could use, for example,  five-pocket pants, but always taking into account the elegant image, combining them for example with polo shirts or shirts.

The fabrics are not so fine and delicate, highlighting the use of denim, raincoats and wool. Do not forget that it is an informal and elegant style at the same time. In men’s clothing we advise:

  • Shirts. Go for minimalistic options better than maintain the simplicity of this style.
  • Suede shoes and Chelsea boots are accepted.

The dress code for women has many more possibilities and allows you to combine casual clothes with more formal ones. An example of a smart-casual style could be a navy jacket suit with a basic white T-shirt underneath and oxford shoes.

100% casual style

This style is only accepted in creative and very informal workplaces, and it is also correct to use it on weekends. It is the most relaxed alternative of all, which allows you to combine jeans, sneakers and large cotton garments.

Combine 100% casual clothes to get an elegant look

Jeans are in every casual wardrobe. They are very versatile and can fit perfectly in any look. In a very informal style we will combine it with basic t-shirts and sports shoes, but if we want to give it a more formal or elegant touch, you can combine it with more stylish clothes or accessories.

The navy blue jacket always elevates a look and if we also add some lounge shoes in ocher tones and as accessories jewelry in gold colour, in the case of women, we will create an image of marine look perfect for almost any type of environment.

Casual fashion is a considerable and very versatile option to modify all kinds of looks giving them a more relaxed air. If we know how to apply all the suggestions and advice we will be able to create an infinite number of successful combinations with only a few basic garments.
