Level is exactly as I thought and is professional but still room for laughs. Feedback at all stages that was really useful. They adapted to the qualifications I work with instantly and it helps that they are experienced teachers/lecturers also as it is not just the old NVQ stuff I deliver. I have been offered excellent support and can continue my career and take on more duties now - really pleased.
Assessor is a great guy - knows the requirements and also is a mine of info. IQA too is similar - both were very likeable as people and also as professionals. Felt confident at all times and also sought advice regularly and was always treated with respect and support. Guided through the qualification expertly and I was the focus continually and never felt lead at all. Work alongside you - not 'at you'! They fit in my environment so well - get treated as staff!! They are delivering updating events to my department also and look forward to seeing them again.← | → -

A pleasure to learn more about the QCF from them and feel very confident in my work - I was certificated within a week of completing as they are fully functioning on new standards etc! They were treated as staff in my college department and were incredibly friendly & understanding of quals that were not NVQS - being lecturers themselves was realy useful as they understood about academic quals too! Enjoyable and has also ensured my CPD and also skill base is more robust - got them delivering updating to other staff and will use again as they are discrete & independent and also deliver results. With such small numbers to each course, you get a very personal approach from the instructors, making it easier for them to relate to the material in a way that suits you. The theory (and there is a lot of it) is direct and to the point, whilst maintaining a good standard of information which is then backed up with experience. The practicals are hands on, learning skills and procedures in a scenario based environment. All in all, i think it si a great value for money. Just because the price is low, it does not reflect on the quality or standard of the teaching.

I found the course instructors great and easy to get on with, the course was laid out in such a way that it was easy to understand. The instructors at the end of the course gave us SIA application forms and assisted us with completing them.

As a mature student, I felt that the Salon North End training academy was the best option for me as it meant that I was still able to work full time and pursue my studies in the evenings. The NVQ level 2 and 3 courses were both practical and theory based, covering all aspects of beauty therapy and I learnt all of the skills that are required to become confident and competent in the industry, meaning that I was able to secure employment after the first year. I would recommend training in the private sector for anyone who wants to receive a better quality of learning at your own pace in a relaxed atmosphere.

I was able to both work and study at the same time which is one of the reasons why I chose it. The second reason was to learn in a small group and have almost one on one teaching to gain the most from the course. I was very pleased that my teacher helped me secure a job in beauty therapy before even finishing my level 3.

As I have been freelancing as a makeup artist for over two years, I felt that my skills were still quite novice or just needed some brushing up.
My lesson with Sumantha was very helpful indeed and I learned a great deal. I was given useful feedback on how I currently apply makeup which I found very useful as I don't receive enough ongoing feedback in my work. She also provided me with other tips/advice on makeup application which I will take with me in future work. A great lesson.

Easy to contact, discuss and enrol. Assessor comes to you and is in regular contact. Planning assessments is done together and once submitted feedback given. Staff at SDL are very pleasant and also flexible in working around you and timings. The assessor travelled to me when promoting services & giving advice at a county careers day . Credible and quality provision.

My Assessor, was great and gave me support throughout all the qualification. Very helpful and honoured all appointments and gave me feedback on all work I submitted, a very different experience to other colleagues with other providers! We will use again certainly as professional & knowledgeable! All units were structured and planned and I felt in control at all times and confident of success.

Qualification was carried out in work and also in my own time by producing evidence - found this a highly suitable way to show my performance in duties and achieve accreditation. My assessor was great and also a good motivator as well as being consistent in meeting me and planning/giving feedback. Excellent support was given and this made me feel instantly more confident in my own and their capabilities. The best route if you cannot find, let alone commit, to College or other attendance in the area and their independence is also reassuring as you do not feel like a 'target'. Fully supported by my work too - found that I could fit this qualification in as well as function at work and home. Many thanks.

Two staff undertook this a s part of a organisational analysis & plan presented by SDL. They have provided excellent insight and knowledge and support at all times and both managers have reported that they feel more confident and ready to take on more challeges and that they responded well to the work-based learning approach. They both reported that they felt their Assessor quickly understood them & offered practical advice and a sense of informality that they responded to - whilst understanding their schedules and not patronising them as 'trainees' but respecting them as working adults with experience. Recommended.

From the very beginning I knew that this was right for me - I had been recommended SDL and they swiftly met me and we started to plan my units. This way is excellent if you are working and cannot give time to attend evenings or travel to college.
We agreed my 'plan' and then it soon became routine to prepare and deliver work. Assessor was a great chap and also really useful & commited to supporting me. This is a great way to learn and you do not have to change your routine - also was accredited for all the previous training I had done so some units had already got work towards them. Nice one!

Personal development & satisfaction. Definitely will reinforce employment security. Fitted in with my schedule and work hours. Cost/Time was negligible and I have really enjoyed the whole experience - started to think again which can only be a good thing.
Never hassled and flexible in meetings/sessions and also the use of email. You are not doing things for the sake of it - everything is real and based on work.
Amazing guys who know their stuff - also are a pleasure to know and useful to discuss ideas with. Will certainly keep in contact with them. Two staff undertook this a s part of a organisational analysis & plan presented by SDL. They have provided excellent insight and knowledge and support at all times and both managers have reported that they feel more confident and ready to take on more challeges and that they responded well to the work-based learning approach. They both reported that they felt their Assessor quickly understood them & offered practical advice and a sense of informality that they responded to - whilst understanding their schedules and not patronising them as 'trainees' but respecting them as working adults with experience. Recommended.

From the very beginning I knew that this was right for me - I had been recommended SDL and they swiftly met me and we started to plan my units. This way is excellent if you are working and cannot give time to attend evenings or travel to college.
We agreed my 'plan' and then it soon became routine to prepare and deliver work. Assessor was a great chap and also really useful & commited to supporting me. This is a great way to learn and you do not have to change your routine - also was accredited for all the previous training I had done so some units had already got work towards them. Nice one!

Personal development & satisfaction. Definitely will reinforce employment security. Fitted in with my schedule and work hours. Cost/Time was negligible and I have really enjoyed the whole experience - started to think again which can only be a good thing.
Never hassled and flexible in meetings/sessions and also the use of email. You are not doing things for the sake of it - everything is real and based on work.
Amazing guys who know their stuff - also are a pleasure to know and useful to discuss ideas with. Will certainly keep in contact with them. Having already attended two modules of my VTCT L2 course at The Cottage Training Centre, my expectations were that the Airbrush Tanning course would be as qualitative, informative, practically based and enjoyable as my last. I was not disappointed. I came away from the day feeling really positive that I had the tools and information to be successful in this area of the industry. The Trainer, Kim Sexton, packs the day full with the right amount of theory vs practical experience, encourages you to question and makes the day really enjoyable. The Trainer always responds quickly and thoroughly to emails and phone calls, the after-training support is great. Good value for money, I will be using the Cottage Training Centre for other courses also in the future.

Many thanks to my Assessor who was brilliant and really motivated me. Would recommend SDL & him to anyone who wants to have fun while learning and producing the evidence that enabled me to get my NVQ. My manager is also very pleased and is very grateful for SDL's work. I am progressing to Marketing level 2 to increase my skills or level 3 in Business Administration and am looking forward to it. Have a go as its worth it!

Put five staff members through on this course and found it excellent grounding and also consolidated the basic training we had provided as a company & SDL developed them further. Working with SDL we have been able to develop a new staff structure and also training at the levels required - very grateful as this has developed the business as well as the initial training we requested - excellent value for money. Even persuaded me to undertake a Level 4 at the same time to understand the process as well as develop myself Will definitely work again with this company and they will be our first port of call for more than just qualifications.
