Introduction Who Should Participate:
This award is ideally for those in a front of house, administrative or support role within any type of cultural venue. The learner will gain real work experience of what goes on in the day to day operations of a cultural venue and see how the processes and procedures enable the venue to run smoothly. The learner will liaise with visitors to the venue and provide a range of customer service. This pathway equips learners with a range of generic skills to widen the job opportunities available to them.

Course Units Qualification Structure:
To achieve the full National Award in Cultural Heritage Venue Operations, you are required to complete all eight of the units at Level 3.

Mandatory Core (8 Units):
· Unit 1: Provide effective Customer Service
· Unit 2: Make sure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
· Unit 3: Contribute to the control of incidents in the workplace
· Unit 4: Monitor and maintain procedures for using IT and interpretation systems
· Unit 5: Monitor and maintain housekeeping procedures
· Unit 6: Organise events and exhibitions
· Unit 7: Monitor and maintain procedures for accessing, recording and storing information
· Unit 8: Maintain procedures for dealing with financial information

Technical Certificate:
Certificate in Creative and Cultural Practice

Assessment:
All qualifications will require apprentices to build separate portfolios of work, complete assignments and to pass a range of external examinations at each stage.
Exemption from some of the key skills is given for suitable GCSE passes.
