This qualification is aimed at individuals who are working or want to start a career in kitchen services, and it is an ideal opportunity to get hands on experience whilst training as it is done inside the workplace. The qualification is aimed at chefs and cooks who may be cooking and reheating food that is brought in and that requires little or no preparation. This could be in more mainstream restaurant or in some parts of the public sector catering.

Course programme

To achieve the Pearson Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Kitchen Services, learners must attain a minimum of 37 credits.

- Learners must achieve all 10 credits from the mandatory units in Group A
- 11 Credits from Group A1 must be attained
- 16 credits from Group B1 must be attained

Mandatory Units (Group A):

- Unit 1 – Maintain Food Safety When Storing, Preparing and Cooking Food
- Unit 2 – Working Effectively as Part of a Hospitality Team
- Unit 3 – Maintenance of a Safe, Hygienic and Secure Working
