Having recently attended this course, I would definately recommend it to anyone. The trainer was great and went at a pace that suited everyone. The course material was easy to understand and there was lots of practical hands on experience. I hope to never have to use any of the stuff I learnt but I feel confident that I can help my dogs (or others) in such situations from the knowledge I have learnt from the course. Good value for money and highly recommended.

I found this course informative and fun. The course was very interesting but combined studying with practical work which made learning easier. I was shocked to discover what I had actually learned in such a short space of time. The instructors were open to comments and questions and created a great learning environment. This course has opened doors for me and for that I am grateful.

This course is valueable to anyone who owns dogs or works with dogs. It is paced at an easy level and all knowledge builds on previous learning steps. The Instructors created a very easy and relaxed learning enviroment and all questions where answered with a great depth of experience and this shone through.
The final scenarios where we put everything we had learnt through the day together actually suprised me how much we had taken in and were very realistic. The materials sent out prior to the course arrived the next day after I was notified they had been dispatched and are simple to follow despite how comprehensive they are.
Would I recommend the course and the trainers? Definitely this is a must do course. Can't wait for the clicker workshop now.

It was an amazing course. I cannot recomment it enough. The tutors had a wealth of knowledge, were super attentive and really nice. Materials were top quality and machines really easy to use. They even followed up the course with an email containing lots of handy info on fabric suppliers to allow us to continue to use our new found skills.

A brilliant course for anyone wanting to learn how to use a sewing mashine for the very first time! The course is well structured and fun. The teachers are extremely friendly, very helpful and take their time to explain everything in detail one on one. I have had a wonderful time learning how to sew a cushion and was delighted to take it home with me at the end of the course!

Easy to contact, discuss and enrol. Assessor comes to you and is in regular contact. Planning assessments is done together and once submitted feedback given. Staff at SDL are very pleasant and also flexible in working around you and timings. The assessor travelled to me when promoting services & giving advice at a county careers day . Credible and quality provision.

My Assessor, was great and gave me support throughout all the qualification. Very helpful and honoured all appointments and gave me feedback on all work I submitted, a very different experience to other colleagues with other providers! We will use again certainly as professional & knowledgeable! All units were structured and planned and I felt in control at all times and confident of success.

Qualification was carried out in work and also in my own time by producing evidence - found this a highly suitable way to show my performance in duties and achieve accreditation. My assessor was great and also a good motivator as well as being consistent in meeting me and planning/giving feedback. Excellent support was given and this made me feel instantly more confident in my own and their capabilities. The best route if you cannot find, let alone commit, to College or other attendance in the area and their independence is also reassuring as you do not feel like a 'target'. Fully supported by my work too - found that I could fit this qualification in as well as function at work and home. Many thanks.

The instructors were simply amazing, a truly endless source of knowledge and real field experience, always with a great sense of humour to keep the hard work coming in a pleasant environment. As for how useful their training turned out to be afterwards, Every single piece of advice, every training exercise came back naturally and sure it helped me (and even my team mates) to, not only have the mission done, but enjoy doing it. Really, it's more than worth every single penny.

I think anybody would be hard pushed to find a more passionate and proffessional training provider, i really could not fault these guys they really have nailed it! A vast wealth of experience in the industry and a commitment to maintaining the standard of operators. The course itself was very challenging and you need to be prepared to put the hours in but the sense of acheivement at the end makes it all worth it!

Those who attended March 2011 course will know what that means and more importantly- who said that. I should say that the that Common Sense was the motto of the course, therefore it was more than useful. There was a lot of absolutely necessary info given to students not only to fulfill the roles of CP team members, but also to run the CP work: to include info gathering, planning and executing the mission. Another indeed great approach to teaching was this one: this is A way, not the THE way to do things. Humble, yet professional way to put the idea- and well respected by students. Speaking of whom: it was great pleasure to work with such a small team, who understood each other from half- word, without having had chance to work together previously. It is worth something. The instructors were simply amazing, a truly endless source of knowledge and real field experience, always with a great sense of humour to keep the hard work coming in a pleasant environment. As for how useful their training turned out to be afterwards, Every single piece of advice, every training exercise came back naturally and sure it helped me (and even my team mates) to, not only have the mission done, but enjoy doing it. Really, it's more than worth every single penny.

I think anybody would be hard pushed to find a more passionate and proffessional training provider, i really could not fault these guys they really have nailed it! A vast wealth of experience in the industry and a commitment to maintaining the standard of operators. The course itself was very challenging and you need to be prepared to put the hours in but the sense of acheivement at the end makes it all worth it!

Those who attended March 2011 course will know what that means and more importantly- who said that. I should say that the that Common Sense was the motto of the course, therefore it was more than useful. There was a lot of absolutely necessary info given to students not only to fulfill the roles of CP team members, but also to run the CP work: to include info gathering, planning and executing the mission. Another indeed great approach to teaching was this one: this is A way, not the THE way to do things. Humble, yet professional way to put the idea- and well respected by students. Speaking of whom: it was great pleasure to work with such a small team, who understood each other from half- word, without having had chance to work together previously. It is worth something. Two staff undertook this a s part of a organisational analysis & plan presented by SDL. They have provided excellent insight and knowledge and support at all times and both managers have reported that they feel more confident and ready to take on more challeges and that they responded well to the work-based learning approach. They both reported that they felt their Assessor quickly understood them & offered practical advice and a sense of informality that they responded to - whilst understanding their schedules and not patronising them as 'trainees' but respecting them as working adults with experience. Recommended.

From the very beginning I knew that this was right for me - I had been recommended SDL and they swiftly met me and we started to plan my units. This way is excellent if you are working and cannot give time to attend evenings or travel to college.
We agreed my 'plan' and then it soon became routine to prepare and deliver work. Assessor was a great chap and also really useful & commited to supporting me. This is a great way to learn and you do not have to change your routine - also was accredited for all the previous training I had done so some units had already got work towards them. Nice one!

Personal development & satisfaction. Definitely will reinforce employment security. Fitted in with my schedule and work hours. Cost/Time was negligible and I have really enjoyed the whole experience - started to think again which can only be a good thing.
Never hassled and flexible in meetings/sessions and also the use of email. You are not doing things for the sake of it - everything is real and based on work.
Amazing guys who know their stuff - also are a pleasure to know and useful to discuss ideas with. Will certainly keep in contact with them. Course is designed with what I wanted to achieve and the service given was first class. They immediately get right into your business and work role and get you searching for evidence. As an aside they also know a lot about other training, qualifications & development and have discussed opportunities for myself, colleagues and also family and friends - very useful indeed especially STEM Leadership Skills for young people - many thanks!← | →

Had a very good Three Day course, very intense but fun. Well worth the cost, didnt think i would pass but they got me through it.

To be totally honest, I thought the course I took which was the 17th edition 3 day course, was going to be a total waste of my time seeing as I missed out on the cut off date by 5months. But in actual fact it proved me absolutely wrong, it was well worth doing and definately good value for money. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, the venue was excellent, the tutor was very friendly, helpful and
made learning enjoyable. I would highly recommend anyone to use Update for this course and personally use Update for any other courses I might benefit from, like the PV course which will be available to do in the very near future.

The tutors jokes (Nigel Harman) are the same as when i did my 16th edition in 2001 but on both accounts I passed first time. Although some of the jokes are really not that funny the training was first class and I look forward to other courses with this tutor.( I just hope that some new jokes have been learnt and a big thankyou to Nigel)

Many thanks to my Assessor who was brilliant and really motivated me. Would recommend SDL & him to anyone who wants to have fun while learning and producing the evidence that enabled me to get my NVQ. My manager is also very pleased and is very grateful for SDL's work. I am progressing to Marketing level 2 to increase my skills or level 3 in Business Administration and am looking forward to it. Have a go as its worth it!

Put five staff members through on this course and found it excellent grounding and also consolidated the basic training we had provided as a company & SDL developed them further. Working with SDL we have been able to develop a new staff structure and also training at the levels required - very grateful as this has developed the business as well as the initial training we requested - excellent value for money. Even persuaded me to undertake a Level 4 at the same time to understand the process as well as develop myself Will definitely work again with this company and they will be our first port of call for more than just qualifications.
