This is a broad-based Food Technology programme aimed at those food industry employees wishing to undertake staff development and achieve a university level qualification to improve career prospects. The qualification has been designed in collaboration with the industry to ensure that you will develop the necessary skills and knowledge needed for employment. We have excellent resources and facilities, including our very well equipped laboratories, and strong links with local employers who can provide you with industry experience.

Course programme

Over the duration of the course you will study six modules which wil cover basic underpinning science and statistics as well as a number of specific vocational modules: Information Processing and Statistics Food Analysis Applied Microbiology Food Chemistry and Nutrition Food Processing and Preservation and Quality Assurance Project. Students will learn via a combination of different practical and theoretical methods including practicals, visits, seminars, case studies and in-class lectures.
