This course has been designed to provide students with a breadth of underpinning knowledge required by the Heating and Ventilation industry. The course is aimed at students who wish for career progression within the Heating and Ventilation industry and who do not have immediate access to an NVQ via an Apprenticeship. Applicants will be invited to attend an interview where they will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their potential to achieve the requirements of this course and provide information on behaviour, punctuality and attendance. Applicants will have also met one of the following entry requirements:
2 GCSEs at grades A* - D (to include English, Maths or Science); or
Other recognised UK/Overseas related FE Level 1 awards.

PROGRAMME CONTENT/STRUCTURE
This course has been designed to provide students with a breadth of underpinning knowledge required by the Heating and Ventilation industry. The course is aimed at students who wish for career progression within the Heating and Ventilation industry and who do not have immediate access to an NVQ via an Apprenticeship.
In addition to studying Basic/Key Skills, the subjects covered will include:
Commissioning and De-Commissioning of Systems;
Installation of System Components and Pipework Interpreting Drawings;
Understanding Construction Methods; and
Understanding the MES Sector.
