Course Content

This nationally recognised qualification is designed to prepare you for working in the construction occupation of bricklaying. The course involves both practical and theoretical activities and covers the following core units:

• Basic blocklaying skills
• Basic cavity walling
• Building methods & construction technology
• Information, quantities & communicating with others
• Safe working practices
• Setting out & building masonry structures up to damp course level.

You may be required to study Key Skills as part of your course.

Method of Assessment

Practical assignments, a series of knowledge questions for each unit and a multi-choice online end test.

Progression

Successful completion of this programme will allow you to progress onto the Level 2 Diploma in Trowel Occupations, or to seek an Apprenticeship as a Bricklayer.
