Provided by City & Guilds London Institute this level one course introduces students to the Travel & Tourism industry.


Is the Course for Me?
The course is designed to offer learners and introduction to the Travel & Tourism industry. Anyone who wishes to learn more about customer service, employment opportunities and organising visits would benefit from studying this qualification.

Having completed this well rounded course, learners will be able to progress into employment or continue onto further study.


What will I Learn?
Learners will look at Worldwide Travel & Tourism Destinations, Customer Relations, Workplace Communications, Retail Travel Services, Health and Safety in the Travel & Tourism, as well as Tourism for all.


How will I Learn?
Learners will have the opportunity to learn in a variety of different ways. Students will be able to learn by watching videos, listening to lectures, working in groups and taking part in practical activities.


How will I be Assessed?
The main assessment will be in the form of a portfolio which learners will complete individually - however, this will be created through a combination of written work, presentations and role plays. On some modules learners will need to complete a multiple choice exam.


What Enrichments are Available?
Learners will be encouraged to take part in a varied enrichment programme, with options such as Spanish, pool life guard, cabin crew, resort rep courses being part of the range of options made available to learners.


Are there any Trips or Visits?
Learners will have the opportunity to go on a number of optional educational visits.


Is there any Work Experience?
Learners will have the opportunity to go on work experience as part of their course. In some cases, it may be possible to use this as part of the assessment.


What can I Progress to?
Upon successful completion of the course learners will be able to progress onto the level two diploma in Travel & Tourism, as well as other level two courses around the college or they will be in a position to seek employment.
