This course is aimed at school leavers and mature students who wish to ultimately progress to university level study in automotive engineering/motor-sport engineering.
The course consists of 10 units which will include:
- Health and Safety
- Vehicle Electronics and Electrics
- Vehicle Engineering skills (basic)
- Vehicle chassis technology
- Engine technology
- Motor sports engines
- On-event maintenance and inspection
- Maths and science
This course will give learners and exiting opportunity to work with and develop a pro kart race team for the area and being involved with striping and rebuilding race engines, scrutinising, data logging, porting and polishing and much more.
Progression
Students can progress to the BTEC National Award/Certificate in vehicle technology.
