NVQ 2 Food and Drink Service

Course Aims:
This NVQ will give you a qualification which proves your level of competence and is a real advantage when you are thinking of a career in the hospitality industry.

Course Content:
You will study:

Practical on the job skills which are recognised throughout the hospitality industry. This may include:
Waiting on in our fourth floor restaurant 'Clouds'
Menu and Event planning for a themed evening
Theory
Bar Service
Customer Service
Food Safety

Progression:
Progress onto a Level 3 route at Southport College, either NVQ3 Hospitality Supervison or BTEC National Certificate in Hospitality

Awarding Body:
City and Guilds (HAB)

Exam:
You will be continuously assessed throughout the course, through practical and product work. You will build up a portfolio of evidence.

Qualification:
NVQ2 Food and Drink Service

Level:
Level 2

Professional Appearance:
You will be expected to wear uniform appropriate to the course and maintain high standards reflecting the professional approach expected within the hospitality industry.

Notes:

Uniform and other kit required will be explained thoroughly at interview and all costs given.

Duration:
One year full-time
