Maximising Your Employment Prospects
Course content:
A basic practical course where students will look at what makes a great CV/interview. We will practice the tools and techniques to build confidence, handle the nerves and focus on preparing well so that success is a given. We will also touch on the process of job hunting and finding vacancies. This will be a positive, supportive and tailor made course.
By the end of the course you will be able to:
1. present yourself well at interview
2. write an effective CV 3. go about job hunting in a structured way
Course Structure:
A practical course with presentations, exercises, discussion in a classroom. Over four weeks we will start by looking at what makes a great CV. We will then look at the job hunting process and getting interviews. We will end by looking at selling yourself and interviews particularly answering questions. All students will have an opportunity to partake in a practice interview during the final session.
Course resources:
Bring a pen, notebook and file. Students do not need to prepare for the course, however it will be an advantage to bring your present CV or start by writing your own CV for us to develop in the sessions.
Assessment:
Teacher feedback. Individual Student progress Records. Student and peer self-assessment. Sharing of work in group,

When information is available you will notice 2 different fees stated for this course. The fee you pay is dependent on your status:
Fee 1: Standard fee;
Fee 2: Aged 60+ years fee
Students in receipt of an income-based benefit pay £20 per course per term.
You will need to bring proof of age and any benefits when you enrol.
You DO NOT have to pay a college registration fee for these courses, but you may have to pay for additional course materials.Materials costs:
