Course content:
Pilates is a series of exercises designed to Improve muscle control, flexibility, strength, breathing technique and posture. Pilates uses flowing movements in sequences. This course is suitable for beginners and students with previous experience wishing to extend their practice. Pilates was devised by Joseph Pilates in the 1940s.
By the end of the course you will be able to:
Use exercises to improve posture
Use exercises to improve alignment
Use diaphragm breathing
Use exercises to improve core stability and strength
Use light weights in a whole body M.O.T.
Name main muscle groups and parts of skeleton.
Students will be performing exercises at a higher level and will develop flexibility and stamina with extended exercises.
Course Structure:
Warm up, back exercises and sequence of different exercises for different parts of the body.

Printed Handouts. all students have access to our fully equipped state of the art learning centre. This included free internet access.

Question and answer session, plus personal achievements

When information is available you will notice 2 different fees stated for this course. The fee you pay is dependent on your status:
Fee 1: Standard fee;
Fee 2: Aged 60+ years fee
Students in receipt of an income-based benefit pay £20 per course per term.
You will need to bring proof of age and any benefits when you enrol.
You DO NOT have to pay a college registration fee for these courses, but you may have to pay for additional course materials.Materials costs:
None though students must wear clothes which allow for easy movement and bare feet or footwear approved by your tutor.
