About this course
You should check the level of this course to see if it matches your ability. Although the class is suitable for any age group it is quite physical and requires some stamina. You are encouraged to learn at your pace and energy level. Not suitable if you have had very recent surgery or injury. Identification of goals in first session

Tai Chi Short Form
Level: Level 1
Course content:
This course will teach you the 24 steps of the Tai Chi Short form. Integral to the course are chi kung energy exercises
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Perform movements of the Yang Style Short Form.
- Continue to practise the complete sequence of 24 step form.
- Perform chi kung exercises
- Achieve some calmness and balance in the body and mind
Course Structure:
There will a initial warm up period with the focus on co-ordinating movement and breath Then there will be practise of the movements which comprise the full form, and then whole form will be performed. Every class there will be additions to the Short Form moves to build up the complete sequence of the 24 step form. The class will be modified to suit the group. It takes around a year to learn the complete form.

tutor observation and feedback. Individual Learning Plans. Student and peer self assessment.

Fee 1: Standard fee;
Fee 2: Aged 60+ years fee
Students in receipt of an income-based benefit pay £20 per course per term.
You will need to bring proof of age and any benefits when you enrol.
You DO NOT have to pay a college registration fee for these courses, but you may have to pay for additional course materials.Materials costs:
It is important to wear some comfortable clothes, soft shoes (or come bare foot). Do bring a bottle of water with you.
