Principles of Management

Many managers are promoted because they excelled in a previous role, not necessarily because they were good at managing other people. Managers are also often confused as to what their real role and purpose is to the organisation, not always because the organisation hasn't told them, but because they haven't always made the complete transition from doing a job to managing a process.

After attending this course managers will:

• Understand how they can take a lead on accountability to ensure they and their teams follow through and implement their actions.
• Realise their contribution to the greater organisational whole and how they can manage the processes which support this even more effectively.
• Sharpen their skills to better manage the performance of colleagues.
• Solve some of their immediate management challenges by changing their thinking to take a different viewpoint.
