Those attending will learn the fundamentals about food and health. This includes examining the links between food and health in context of the Scottish diet, studying some of the science.

REHIS - Food Hygiene
This course has been devised in conjunction with NHS Health Scotland, the Scottish Executive, Food Standards Agency Scotland, the Scottish Community Diet Project and the Scottish Health Choices Award Scheme. Those attending will learn the fundamentals about food and health. This includes examining the links between food and health in context of the Scottish diet, studying some of the science behind the nutritional content of foods, including a look at energy, sugar, salt, protein, fibre, vitamin and mineral content and how these impact upon the human body. The course also provides information about how poor diet is linked to cancer, diabetes, heart disease and other conditions.
