A content creator is someone who creates media for sharing online. Normally, it describes someone who uses multiple media formats, making videos (vloggers), recording audios (podcasters), writing articles (bloggers).

Inspiration

Content creators can work for themselves, writing as a hobby or as a profession. When you do it as a professional,  whether as freelance or as an employee, coming up with original ideas on demand it rarely works.

Open a computer and be able to dedicate your day to producing something catchy and original is not always an easy task.

Someday the inspiration comes by itself. You wake up, grab a cup of coffee, open your laptop and that’s it. Words come out one by one without gasping for a second. Feels like breathing.

But other days…not so simple. In particular, if you begin working with or for other people. In this case, writing it begins to feel more like an obligation than a vocation. You need to come up with something about a particular topic or theme and you don’t get to chose which one, at least, not always.

In this kind of scenario, your inspiration is probably going to vanish if you just sit and go like “now I’m going to write”.

Of course, anyone find is own trick to light up inspiration and let creativity flow.

For someone, it works to go for a walk, take a deep breath, deep into nature, talk with a beloved one, listen to music, do exercises and so on.

We could provide prompts all day.

You just need to find the right tune that goes deep in you, where your creativity likes to hide and open that door, letting it come out in a thrill.

All these tools are definitely better than just conveniently hoping that inspiration and opening your laptop coincide at some point.

And when inspiration does strike, you will find something interesting and intriguing, sometimes funny and a little bit mischievous, to say.

Quality

Once inspiration arises, attention to detail follows. At least, that is how it should work if you want to get things done, and to get it done magnificently.

Of course, this doesn’t mean to find perfection. Moreover, do not let perfection get in the way, or you will never get the job done. You need to aim to “good enough” and that means to find out who is your target, your readers, your audience.

Sometimes, consumers are more interested in the content over the quality, sometimes it is just the opposite. You just need to give yourself the opportunity to focus on what they need and make it how you need it to be, focusing on the content and putting your story across.

Rewards

Becoming a content creator can be sometimes unrewarding both emotionally and financially, that is just an ugly truth. You spend hours researching, writing, editing, uploading and then hoping that your articles (videos, podcasts) will reach the public. But it doesn’t always work as you aspected and you just need to get over this if you want to continue working and to continue arousing for it.

This requires to remind yourself the good reasons.

Have fun

Get over the initial fear of putting yourself out there and having people see your work, and try always to find the time to write about what you are interested in, even if it is just for you, from time to time. This is the best reward you can get for yourself, no matter what.

Create content because it’s fun, do what you love it can always be fun and this alone will let the inspiration come to you and keep you going and growing as a person and as a professional. It will lead you to success.
