Degree Level
Doing a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic training is the first step in order to become the professional you desire. Generally, this degree is the first introduction about human sciences, anatomy, physiology and emergency care, as learning about injury and illness prevention. This introduction will allow you to have a practical experience under the supervision of a professional athletic trainer.
It is important to know that this Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic training must be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education. Only this, will allow you to obtain afterwards a licensure and certification as an Athletic Trainer.
Training Experience
Once you are graduate from your Bachelor’s Degree, you have to gain experience. This is the only way to become competitive as a professional and enter the job market.
There are some schools that offer training providing hands-on training, so the students have the opportunity to learn on how to develop clinical consultations, do a patient evaluation and learn all the administrative know-how about the documentation on injuries.
Certification
In order to become a professional Atheltic Trainer, you require to be certified by the Board of Certification. To validate and complete this certification you need to complete the athletic training program and succeed in the certification exam. This certification and licensure are regulated by earning a completion of credits and maintaining a basic life support certification.
