  • My experience so far has been really good. I studied my foundation year in Loughborough and I must say, Coventry is so much more inviting. You really feel supported, and it's much more close knit. Coventry is very good at increasing employability. There are a lot of placement and job fairs, and the careers department are very useful. I recently had a meeting to talk about my placement interview and it was very useful. They also do not expect you to pay for your placement year, which is very handy as some universities will still expect your tuition fees. The lecturers are all very approachable and try to make the lectures as interesting as possible. They are always available to speak to you about anything you might need, and are willing to take time out of their own day to help. The facilities are excellent. I am in the new engineering building and it's amazing. They have everything you could possibly need, and it's very modern and clean. The support is amazing. We have something called a Theta room, where lecturers are obliged to go and sit for at least 3 hours a week to help anyone that goes along. We also have a maths support center where you can go along and ask anything to do with maths. On top of that, the lecturers are usually very quick to answer emails, and are happy to help.

  • Enjoyable, but many issues that makes the experience definitely not best value for money. Lectures don't meet my expectations. I don't feel like all the lectures provide good enough support or teach to a good enough standard. Class sizes are too large with too many students not interested in learning and disrupting the learning of others. I do enjoy the challenges and independence uni life brings.Good wide range of activities. Not always the best to correspond with. They don't always take the time to read emails and answer issues. Some academics are brilliant but they are few and far between. Many will not respond to queries and are mostly unhelpful. They don't treat you in a manner which makes you feel like you're two adults conversing.

  • Overall it's been quite good. The uni is expanding and getting better, with the quality of teaching being quite high. Quality of lectures is good and there's plenty of support outside them as well. Facilities are fairly modern. Good support outside lectures and tutorials, along with a personal tutor for other needs. Good resources available in the library as well. The university facilities are excellent.

Biomedical Science/Applied Biomedical Science BSc (Hons) degrees at Scarborough

  • My degree is taught very well, lecturers are very enthusiastic about the topics they teach and will always take the time to make sure that you understand everything. Lectures are always on an online system with extra content. There is always guided further reading and the opportunity to go further with your education. This is supported by all of the staff at the university. My degree is accredited so it puts me at a good advantage ahead of other Biomedical Scientists, there is a lot of opportunities and announcements about placements and jobs available. There is a very good student support system and the university is constantly evolving to the advantage of the students. For example, one society decided that there was not enough veggie/vegan food on campus, this has been debated in a student meeting and the university are now exploring vegan food options.

  • I couldn't have wished for a better 3 years, they have been so enjoyable due to the quality of the course and teaching, the quality of facilities and the surrounding area. Friendliness and commitment to teaching, always open to a discussion and provide help. Tutors and lecturers are always available when they say they are to provide deeper feedback. Coursework feedback is usually very in depth and very helpful.

  • My overall experience in the University of Coventry has been excellent. Excellent student services as well as other facilities. Lectures are very helpful and makes the modules even more interesting. Workshops are also very useful and interesting which provides further understanding of any topic.University is providing great help to increase our employability. They are providing time to time help. Also they keep informing us about new placements and careers opportunities through emails. Overall university provides great efforts to help students to achieve aims as well as job. Coventry facilities are very excellent. They always take care about students needs. I had never faced any problems.

  • It's been great so far. Overall I've met some great people, and the university experience has given me the opportunity to branch out, and get out of my comfort zone. I've grown a lot. Lecturers encourage you to go on placements and apply for jobs early, but they also provide services to help you. They don't leave you to do things for yourself. Coventry University is one of the best at that.

  • My experience at Coventry University has been excellent. Assistance is there when you need it. There are plenty of opportunities to have your voice heard. My University did a lot to help with my CV skills. They have what is called Add+vantage which is an extra module to help with my employability . There are also plenty of voluntary opportunities. My Student Union is very active i am involved with the voluntary team which is great. They do their best to support us. I particularly use the maths support center and it has been really helpful with my maths course.

  • Coventry University: Such a great place to study! It is right in the centre of Coventry and the whole campus is quite compact which gives the university a real community feel. The University of Coventry has a lovely atmosphere, everyone is so friendly and willing to help with anything you may need. They have a great library with an incredible range of books for your courses. Would recommend it with no hesitation.

Graphic Design BA (Hons) degrees at Scarborough

  • The university experience has been very positive so far. The teaching and modules are great, a varied range of visual communication through typography, publishing, website, posters etc. There are great opportunities for global experience with China and Amsterdam.
    ← | →
  • The course use to be very strong, it had structure and organisation. The teaching can be strong depending on the lecturer. One lecturer I praise hugely is Rob Tovey. He has structure, and keeps our knowledge up to date with current or trending lectures that are relevant to our module and learning. They really challenge you, and make you consider if you can apply the knowledge to your work, unlike the rest. Strongly consider Coventry University as a whole. Great one to ones with tutors.

  • I think that graphic design at Coventry University is my best choice in my life so far. My time at Coventry are being enjoyable. I feel that I'm doing something what I really love and my tutors help me to achieve my life goals and make my dreams come true. I can still improve my skills and develop myself. My lecturers are so cool! I'm really impressed that in couple of months my knowledge level increased so much studying graphic design. The best thing is that everything what we do prepares us to work in graphic design's field in the future. We get a lot of experience here and that is great! We have a lot of facilities on our university! We can choose from different printers, PCs or Macs. What is more we have a lot of different machines on FAH we can use on print workshops or typography workshops. Tutors are really helpful and they try to solve every our problem. We also have an opportunity to get a scholarship which is pretty good.

Psychology and Criminology BSc (Hons) degrees at Scarborough

  • Criminology at Coventry university is really good, the staff is always friendly, approachable and incredibly engaging. The course is assessed entirely through coursework which is great for me because I have never been good with dealing with exam pressure. The course content is great and extensive and throughout the degree you are able to choose area which interest you the most to do your assessed work on. There are also links with numerous company's and charities for which you can volunteer to enhance your career prospects. Last year through the university I completed training in order to be an appropriate adult for West Midlands police, and experience I am thoroughly enjoying and grateful for.

Forensic Investigations BSc (Hons) degrees at Scarborough

  • The course is very broad and covers different modules ranging from forensic science, criminology, law and digital forensics. I would personally say it is a better alternative to forensic science unless you're certain this is the path you want to take, as it opens more doors in terms of job sector. The course is mainly coursework based. I am in second year and have had one proper exam and about 3-4 phase tests since the start of my course. It can be challenging at times but Coventry university provides books as part of the uni fee and lecturers are at your disposal as long as you email them to book a session. Another positive I would add is that the course is not exactly a popular one, which makes for extra attention when needed as well as help entering into sectors that are always hiring! Personally I really enjoy my course and my dissertation topic was quite interesting to choose considering the broad range of topics I had to choose from. If you're considering the course I would 100% say go for it.

  • This degree will keep you on your toes. The lecturers are never dull and allow lectures to me enjoyable. They cater to everyone's needs and have an open door policy which help students a lot. The degree itself teaches you from how to investigate a hard drive using tools the police use to how to get away with murder. As the degree is so innovative opportunities just land at your feet.

  • My university experience has been good so far. The university staff were happy to help me change course even though I was moving across faculties from Automotive Engineering to English and Creative Writing. And I was able to do this several weeks into my original course which meant I didn't have to make it through my first year on a course I didn't enjoy before being able to change courses. The university offers many small-scale events such as webinars, group sessions and one to one workshops on employability and workplace skills ranging from presentation skills to CV writing to effective job searching. They also run large scale events like employability fairs that are specific to faculties so each faculty gets a chance to promote relevant employers and invite them in to talk to students. The course allows us to have a high degree of creative freedom in some of our modules whilst still maintaining a stricter and more academic approach in others. This allows us to explore our ideas in our university work without sacrificing the academic side of the experience meaning that we will be well prepared no matter what we go on to do after completing our undergraduate degrees.
