By the end of the course you will be able to: - tune the guitar. interpret chord charts and guitar tablature. Use more complex rhythms and finger-picking patterns. Develop coordination and listening skills and learn more advanced theory. Use techniques such as shuffle rhythms.

Course content:
This course is for people who have already got basic skills or have done a beginners and level1 course.
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- tune the guitar
- interpret chord charts and guitar tablature.
- Use more complex rhythms and finger-picking patterns.
- Develop coordination and listening skills and learn more advanced theory.
- Use techniques such as shuffle rhythms, bass-line patterns, lead scales, muting.
Songs will be on the pop, rock, folk and blues style.
Course Structure:
Each week a topic will be taught in class; students will practice notation and tunes individually with one to one input from the tutor.
Course resources:
You will need to bring an acoustic guitar with you.
Assessment:
Teacher feedback, Individual learning plans, Student and peer self-assessment.

Students in receipt of an income-based benefit pay £20 per course per term.
You will need to bring proof of age and any benefits when you enrol.
You DO NOT have to pay a college registration fee for these courses, but you may have to pay for additional course materials.Materials costs:
